PRIORITY Projects

LET 'EM PLAY!
We believe many life lessons are learned through sports. School playgrounds and athletic facilities are unstructured extensions of the classroom filled with opportunities for creativity, defining and enforcing shared rules, promoting teamwork and learning sportsmanship.
Research indicates physical activity improves memory, attention and concentration in the classroom. By promoting social and emotional development, physical activity also improves classroom behavior.
This project will fund equipment for new and existing (underfunded) extracurricular programs across a wide range of sports and recreational activities. Funds will be targeted at increasing recreational options during elementary school recess as well as supporting physical education classrooms and after-school athletics at the secondary school levels.

HAPPIER HOLIDAYS!
In an effort to holistically support families with students in Title I schools, our mission is based on the understanding that families are the primary support system for the student’s growth, including academics. Sponsored families, selected by school employees, receive gifts that are specific to their needs to be successful in school as well as increase their overall well-being. Adults in the home receive resources in the form of gas- and grocery-only gift cards along with accommodating requests for their personal needs. Gifts are delivered to home caregivers prior to the holiday by frontline leaders to create an opportunity to connect with the community.
